Louisiana-born singer-songwriter and guitarist Joy Clark headlines an unforgettable evening at Davell Underground. With her debut album "Tell It to the Wind,' Joy has charted her own path as a proud voice in Americana, blues, and soul - blending the social consciousness of her New Orleans Gospel roots with the raw honesty of Southern rock. She has performed alongside Allison Russell and Brandi Carlile, graced the Kennedy Center stage, and been featured on WWNO and The Times-Picayune.
Opening the night is soul rock singer-songwriter Buggy Jive, a somewhat reclusive artist quietly building a devoted following from his basement studio in Upstate New York. Equal parts Zeppelin and D'Angelo, Prince and Joni Mitchell, his lyrics mine the literature of the past - from Ellison to Morrison to Eliot to Didion - delicately balancing heaviness with humor. His new album 'Icarus Ascending' and literary punk funk folk sound promise a set unlike anything vou've heard before. Two singular artists, one extraordinary night.
